As we get close to the voting phase of this first year of the National Homeschool Book Award, we thought we’d put together something fun to help you look back on reading these four great books, and challenge your memory about them a bit!
What do you remember about who said what, who went where, and which animals appeared in which books? Here’s a chance to find out what you know (and be reminded of what you may have forgotten!)
This can either be used as a quiz activity, or played as a Jeopardy-style game. There are two versions of the quiz–an easier version with answers to match the questions to, and a harder version with blanks to fill in.
For the game, print off the game board and the grid with the dollar amounts to cover the questions, plus the answer sheet for the game host. It’s played just like Jeopardy, only without that confusing stating-your-answer-in the-form-of-a-question business!
Individuals or teams choose a category and dollar amount they’d like to try for, and then do their best to answer the question. If they get it right, that dollar amount goes to them and they get to try another question. (Teams can track their own winnings for a little homeschool math!) If they are incorrect, play moves to the other person or team.
Younger players who may have a harder time could be given one of the quizzes to work through ahead of the game in order to give them a little leg up!
